The vehicles have been converted from coaches with individual compartments, and are accessible to passengers using wheel chairs. The coaches feature air-conditioning, a compartment for passengers travelling with children including space for prams and bicycles.

Nine type Bhmpz 228 modernised coaches each seat 60 passengers in an open compartment, and are equipped with 230V electrical sockets with integrated USB ports for charging electronic devices.

Passengers will be kept up-to-date on the progress of the journey through an audio-visual information system with LCD monitors located in the open compartment and boarding areas, while on board WiFi is also available. The coaches offer an increased storage space compared with existing vehicles.

Wide gangways offer improved disabled-access, and the toilets are also accessible with a baby-changing table.

Another nine class Bdmpz 227 coaches offer passengers 72 upholstered adjustable seats, with one area having space for stowing eight bicycles.

The coaches are now gradually being deployed on all EuroCity trains operated by CD on the Prague – Hamburg route.
