Siemens has been selected for the NKr 5.5bn ($US 710m) trackside contract, while Alstom has been chosen to supply onboard equipment in a deal worth around NKr 2bn.

The onboard systems contract has been procured by Bane Nor on behalf of 14 train operators and covers the installation of ETCS equipment on around 400 vehicles.

Thales was recently selected for the contract to deliver a new national Traffic Management System (TMS), which will replace three legacy systems.
