Frauscher will supply about 300 track sections and 312 counting heads for installation on the 36.4km line. Line 8 is the first metro line in Delhi to be fitted with CBTC for driverless operation.
The orbital line runs through southern Delhi from Janakpuri in the west to Botanical Gardens in Noida. It will have 26 stations of which 12 will be underground.
The first section of Line 8 is due to open in June with six-car trains running at peak-hour headways of 2min 15s.
