As consortium leader, Thales will supply and install ETCS Level 1 trackside equipment, electronic interlockings at five stations, and a trackside train condition monitoring system. Kapsch CarrierCom will be responsible for the GSM-R element of the project, including the provision of cab radios and handheld equipment.
The two companies have already been awarded a similar contract for the adjoining 128km section of Corridor IV between Svilengrad and Plovdiv.
