Mipro will supply its Miso CTC solution, replacing the existing system which is based in the town of Tampere, in phases from this year up to 2018. The new centralised traffic control (CTC) system provides automatic functions for train monitoring and route setting, as well as simulation tools for operator training and traffic management.

The system will control and monitor over 10,000 elements across the operating area, including 1800 signals and 1250 points, and in addition to main lines, it will cover the Tampere and Seinäjoki marshalling yards. The system connects with the Transport Agency's various traffic management systems through numerous interfaces, as well as the region's interlocking, which were provided by six separate suppliers.

The system will be housed in a new traffic control centre which will be built in Tampere Viinikka.
