The tender has been published jointly in the Official Journal of the European Union by Brandenburg's Ministry of Infrastructure and the Zweckverband Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien Transport Association. The concession will start on December 9 2018 and expire on December 14 2030.

The lines comprise:

  • RB 46 Cottbus- Forst (Lausitz), with 285,000 train-km annually
  • RB 64 Hoyerswerda - Görlitz, with about 458,000 train-km per annum
  • RB 64 Niesky- Görlitz, with around 163,000 train-km per year, and
  • RB 65 Cottbus – Görlitz - Zittau, with an annual train-km of 1,649,000

There are three options for RB 64: option 1 is Hoyerswerda - Gorlitz, option 2 is Niesky - Görlitz, while option 3 involves removing parts of the operation from the contract.
