Romania's Ministry of Transport has allocated Lei 100m for the order and tendering is expected to begin in the second quarter of the year. CFR will also receive Lei 126m from the European Union's Large Infrastructure Operational Programme (LIOP) and other sources for rolling stock investment.

In addition to the order for new trains, CFR Calatori says it will modernise 30 160km/h long-distance coaches this year, which will be financed through its own budget.
