Services are now running between 09.00 and 15.00 on the Pajuçara – Parangaba stretch, using AnsaldoBreda ETR 200 Metrostar emus. Of the 20 trains on order, eight have so far been delivered to Fortaleza.

All remaining works on the 24.1km line between Central Station and Parangaba should be completed by October 2012, and full commercial services will start early next year. The Reais 680.9m ($US 332.5m) project is being funded jointly by Brazil's federal government and the state of Ceará.
