The company will open a new workshop at the port of Rotterdam in the summer of 2019, with a ground-breaking ceremony scheduled for this year. The new facility will maintain both MRCE and third-party fleets, and its location at the port is considered advantageous to serve locomotives arriving from across Europe and to avoid long service transfer runs, which cost valuable time and money.

Siemens and MRCE will each hold a 50% stake in LWR, and pending approval of antitrust authorities, founding of the joint venture is expected to be confirmed in the first half of this year.
