IRJ at AusRail Plus: Lance Hockridge, CEO of QR National, announced today that 12 months after their successful IPO the railway will switch next month from being organised as business units to the functional model favoured by North American Class 1 railways.
In future QR National will have eight functional divisions. Hockridge also announced that Mr Paul Scurrah will step down as CEO of Queensland Rail, which operates passenger services in the state, to join QR National as the head of the new commercial and customer services division.
Hockridge says he expects to double the size of the business within the next five years.
