Starting in 2015, the winning bidder will be responsible for the maintenance of the fixed telecommunication and GSM-R systems, as well as the remote energy command and control system for all high-speed lines currently in service: Madrid - Valladolid, Madrid - Toledo, Madrid - Seville, Cordoba - Malaga, Madrid - Valencia/Alicante and Madrid – Barcelona - French border.
Nearly €55m of the contract value will be reserved for system renewals or upgrading when needed, under specific agreements to be concluded in the future with Adif AV.
Adif AV has also authorised the tendering process for two more contracts. One tender is for an €18.2m contract for the construction of a second track between the Duero river and Valladolid on the Madrid - Valladolid high-speed line, while the other tender is for a €25.4m contract for the electrification works to connect the Vandellós - Tarragona section of the Mediterranean Corridor main line with the Madrid - Barcelona high-speed line.
