The tests were conducted to verify the ability of LTE networks to support communications-based train control and multiservice solutions including CCTV, advertising, and Wi-Fi. The solution was tested against Bombardier’s requirements for latency, packet loss, and the ability to prioritise safety-critical applications.
CBTC uses high-capacity data communications and high-resolution location determination to support automatic train protection, operation and supervision functions.
