The train, which will be capable of milling up to 3m of rail per minute, is due to be delivered in the second quarter of 2018 and will be based at Crossrail's Plumstead infrastrucutre maintance depot.

Onboard CBTC equipment will be installed for operation on the underground core section of the Elizabeth Line between Paddington and Liverpool Street, as well as a suction system to contain milling chips and grinding dust when operating in tunnels.
The 48m-long train will be powered by an 839kW low-emmisions diesel engine and will be capable of operating at up to 80km/h between worksites.
