The contract involves the supply of around 400,000 sleepers per year to be produced by Swedish companies Strangbetong Rail and Abetong, together with
pre-assembled fastening systems and under sleeper pads from Pandrol.
Pandrol will supply its Fastclip FE elastic rail fastening system. This is a lower-cost variant of the Fastclip system which can be used in all applications where the Fastclip FC is currently used. Pandrol says the new design should reduce the working profile of the system while enhancing performance and functionality.
Machines available from Pandrol’s Rosenqvist subsidiary can install the clips at a rate of up to 70 sleepers per minute. Another subsidiary, Pandrol CDM Track, will supply CDM-USP under sleeper pads.
