Ankara awards two metro extension contracts PDF Print E-mail

THE TURKISH Ministry of Transport has awarded a joint venture of Comsa-EMTE, Spain, and Açilim Insaat two contracts to extend the Ankara metro by 32km and 22 stations. The award was marked by a contract signing ceremony held yesterday in Ankara.
 
The joint venture will complete civil works on the 16.6km, 11 station Kizilay - Çayyolu 4 line and the 15.4km Batikent-Sinçan route which also has 11 stations by February 2014. Work includes tunnelling, construction of underground and open-air stations, and slab track assembly and laying ballasted track.
