COMMERCIAL operations have begun on the first line in Croatia to be equipped with ERTMS.

A consortium of Bombardier and Site, Italy, designed, delivered and commissioned signalling on a 33.5km upgraded section of the Vinkovci - Tovarnik line to the Serbian border which is part of the Pan European Corridor 10 between Austria and Greece.

Trains can now operate at 160km/h on the route which is equipped with Bombardier's Interflo 250 ETCS Level 1 solution. The installation includes Bombardier's EBI Lock 950 computer-based interlocking system and wayside equipment.
