The package includes grants for 29 light rail projects in 11 cities,covering a total of 152km of new lines. Among the most significant
contributions are Euros 54 million for Nice Line 2; Euros 36 million
for the Bruay - Béthune - Beuvry line; Euros 30.6 million for Besancon
Line 1 and Euros 19.3 million towards four extensions in Lyon. Projects
in Bordeaux, Marseilles, Nantes, Montpelier, Strasbourg, Toulouse and
Tours (pictured) will also benefit.
The government has also allocated Euros 90.7 million towards the
construction of Rennes Metro Line B and Euros 9.1 million for the
upgrading of Lille Metro Line 1.
