Masabi will supply its JustRide platform, an end-to-end ticketing and fare collection system, which allows passengers to purchase and display tickets using their smartphone. All ticket types, including weekly and monthly passes, will be available through a specially-developed App which can also handle payments with a credit or debit card. Tickets are sent to users' phones in the form of an electronic ticket, or an encrypted barcode which a conductor can scan using a handheld device.

MTA would not release a precise start date for the programme, but says it will be installed and operational "within a matter of months."
