The trains will operate regional services in the east of the country, with the initial order for 29 trains intended to operate services in Moravia-Silesia from 2023. Following the completion of negotiations between ČD and the Olomouc regional government, a second order for 27 trains will be placed for introduction between 2023 and 2024.

The three-car trains will have a maximum speed of 160km/h, with capacity for 240 seated passengers, and will be equipped with ETCS.

The trains will feature air-conditioning, a wheelchair-accessible interior, Wi-Fi, power sockets and toilets. In addition, the trains will be equipped with multi-purpose spaces for wheelchairs, bicycles or luggage, as well as a digital audio-visual passenger information system.

The new order will further expand ČD’s sizeable fleet of 51 RegioPanter trains, which includes 12 RegioPanter class 440, eight class 640s, 17 class 650s and 14 long-distance InterPanter class 660 and 661 trains. A further 31 class 650 trains are currently in production.
