The new EMUs are operating on the Örebro - Eskilstuna - Södertälje - Flemingsberg - Stockholm route, known as the Svealand line, where they will gradually replace the locomotive-hauled coaches currently in service.

Stadler signed a contract with leasing company Transitio in April 2016 to deliver 33 Kiss sets for Mälardal Traffic, with the order later expanded with an additional eight sets for the Uppsala region.

The 105m-long four-car EMUs have 357 seats, with a maximum speed of 200km/h. The trains have been designed to cope with harsh winter conditions and have strong body shells to deal with collisions with large wild animals.

The Kiss brand has been replaced by Dosto in Sweden for marketing reasons.
