Newag will supply 15 85m to 95m-long EMUs and six 70m to 77m-long EMUs.

The trains will feature air-conditioning, a passenger information system, ticket vending machines and validators, Wi-Fi, USB sockets and an AED defibrillator. All vehicles will be delivered no later than November 30 2022.

The deal comes after SKM cancelled a contract with Pesa, Poland, for 13 EMUs due to Pesa’s failure to meet the delivery schedule for the trains.
