The fleet of nine two-car trains was ordered from Škoda Transportation in September 2017 and built at the manufacturer’s plant in Pilsen. The 160km/h sets are equipped for operation on both 25 kV 50Hz ac and 3kV dc electrification systems.

The trains will be deployed on regional services from Plzen to Horažďovice and Pňovany from next month.

CD already operates a fleet of 28 two and three-car RegioPanter EMUs as well as 14 five-car InterPanter sets for interregional services.

In March, Slovakian national passenger operator ZSSK awarded a consortium of Škoda Transportation and Slovakian partner ŽOS Trnava a €160m contract to supply 25 RegioPanter regional EMUs for services in the Žilina area.
