The contract, which was signed by RZD chairman, Mr Oleg Belozerov, and Ural Locomotives director general, Mr Oleg Spai, calls for at least 80% of manufacturing to take place in Russia.

As part of the agreement, a working group will be set up to prepare a feasibility study and research the technical requirements of the fleet.

The working group will assess the cost of maintenance over the life cycle of the trains, as well as the necessary infrastructure. It will also determine the required fleet size and other details of the planned contract.
