The new Be 570 trains are identical to the Be 510 two-car EMUs, which have been in service since 2014, and will replace life-expired class Be 520 and B 220 trains on Line S10. The tender for the trains was agreed with the Zürich Transport Association.

The air-conditioned Be 570 trains will be designed to cope with gradients of up to 7.9%. Each train will be 50m long with 143 seats and 187 standing places. The EMUs will have low-level entrances for rapid boarding and alighting at stations, and will be fully accessible for handicapped passengers. They will have an integrated passenger information system.

The first train will be delivered in November 2021, and all five trains are expected to be in passenger service by July 2022.
