Under the tender published in the Official Journal of the European Union, Vias says it plans to select three suppliers to negotiate a contract with.
The suppliers must have declared €250m in annual turnover from the sale of rail vehicles between 2017 and 2019, and must have also previously supplied a similar number of rail vehicles to at least two customers in Germany. The manufacturers must also supply evidence of research into rail vehicle development.
Offers must be submitted by October 26.
