While the internal design of the 28m-long LRVs has not yet been completed, WLB says they will be barrier-free with air-conditioning and Wi-Fi.

Delivery will start in the first quarter of 2021, followed by testing, with the first new LRVs expected to enter revenue service during summer 2021.

The new LRVs will replace the ageing class 100 trams.

The order includes an option for an additional 16 LRVs, some of which asre requred to increase headways between Vienna and Baden to 7.5 minutes.
