THE Port of Bordeaux Authority has awarded Eurotunnel subsidiary Europorte Socorail an eight year contract to operate and maintain railway infrastructure in the port area.
The port has seven terminals, of which two, Bassens and le Verdon, are rail-served. The site at Bassens has 10.2km of track and 25 sidings, while le Verdon has 11km of track and 14 sidings.
Europorte already has contracts to operate port railways in Dunkerque, Nantes Saint-Nazaire, Rouen, and Paris.
