The company has ordered two Bombardier Traxx F140 DC 3kV dc electric locomotives (designated class 483 in Italy), which will be delivered in February 2015, together with 100 articulated flat wagons from Legios, Czech Republic.
The wagons will be capable of operating at up to 120km/h and will accommodate swap bodies as well as containers. The total value of the wagon order is €11m and deliveries are due to start next month.
GTS Rail is acquiring its own wagons in order to reduce its requirement for leased vehicles, which are provided by AAE, Switzerland.
