RZD and the ministry will look to cooperate in several areas, including the modernisation of the 575km Nagpur - Secunderabad line to increase the speed of passenger trains to 200km/h and the creation of a single dispatch control centre to manage intermodal freight transport.

The agreement also covers cooperation in the development of multimodal freight terminals in India, the exchange of best practices in freight transport, and cooperation in human resources.

The agreement follows the memorandum of understanding signed by Indian Railways and RZD in 2015.
