The service transports the vehicles in specially-adapted containers equipped with racking systems to prevent the cars moving or sustaining damage in transit from Chengdu, China, to Łódź, Poland.

To operate the new service, Mosolf established a new Chinese subsidiary, Mosolf (Chengdu) International Logistics. The company has started operation at Chengdu Qingbaijiang rail terminal, where it has leased track space since May, and in Łódź at the existing Spedcont intermodal terminal.

Mosolf is responsible for moving the cars from the factories in China to Chengdu Qingbaijiang terminal and will load the vehicles into containers using its own staff at the company’s site.

Test operation began in mid-2019. The containers are transported on the existing “Chengdu - Europe Express Railway” freight service, which crosses the Chinese - Kazakhstan border at Alataw Pass before travelling through Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus to Poland.

Due to the gauge change from from 1435mm to 1520mm and back again, the containers are transferred at the China/Kazakhstan border and at Małaszewicze in Poland.
