The train known as the Alte Schwede (Old Swede) operates three times a week in each direction and is routed from Germany across Denmark to Halmstad in western Sweden where the train is re-marshalled. Each train will carry up to 36 semitrailers.

Spedition Bode previously sent the trailers by road via the Travemünde - Trelleborg ferry and expects to save both time and costs by using rail, especially as the number of truck drivers required will be significantly reduced. Much of the freight carried by Spedition Bode from Germany to Sweden is consumer goods for major supermarket chains, including refrigerated goods.

Swedish logistics company GN Transport will also use the train on both the Lübeck - Halmstad and Halmstad - Stockholm - Årsta sections of the route.
