Under the framework of the agreement, the partners will develop vehicles which are compliant with International Coach Regulations (RIC) and capable of operating on the standard-gauge systems of China and Europe as well as Russia’s 1520mm-gauge network.
The new coaches will initially be deployed on Beijing - Moscow - Berlin services.

Russian Post Logistics says that demand for international shipments is increasing rapidly and it handled almost 100 million international shipments in the first half of this year. The company believes rail could be an attractive option for the carriage of products that cannot be transported by air, such as lithium-ion batteries.

Last year Russian Post awarded TVZ a contract to supply 50 mail coaches for domestic use.
