The wagons are equipped with a 92.7m3 tank which enables the volume of ammonia carried to be increased by 10 tonnes to 60.2 tonnes compared with UWC’s standard 74m3 tank wagon. This will allow operators to transport the same amount of ammonia with 20% fewer wagons.

The wagon has shielding to ensure safe transport of ammonia at temperatures below -25oC.

UWC says there is a eight-year guarantee period of operation between repairs, and the wagon has a design life of 40 years.
