INVESTIGATIONS by Germany's competition authority have revealed that DB Networks was the victim of a steel price-fixing cartel which operated between 1998 and 2008.
DB estimates it may have overpaid more than €100m for track materials and products during the period.
Investigators have conducted raids on 10 organisations, and prosecutions could ensue if sufficient evidence is gathered to press charges. It is understood that one supplier is negotiating compensation arrangements with DB.
