The batch of 2000 tonnes of type 54 E1 rails will be produced at Evraz ZSMK steel plant in Western Siberia and shipped to Malaysia by the end of the third quarter of 2015.
Representatives of KTMB visited Evraz in Novokuznetsk, Russia, earlier this year to audit Evraz production sites and assess the company's rail-rolling and rail-hardening technologies. The KTMB team also visited the sample testing laboratory and quality control service. As a result Evraz was certified by KTMB to supply rails to Malaysia.
