NORWEGIAN track authority Jernbaneverket has awarded Skanska, Sweden, a NKr 1.36bn ($US 245.6m) contract for the remaining civil works on the 13.4km Holm - Nykirke section of the Vestfold line upgrade project.
NORWEGIAN track authority Jernbaneverket has awarded Skanska, Sweden, a NKr 1.36bn ($US 245.6m) contract for the remaining civil works on the 13.4km Holm - Nykirke section of the Vestfold line upgrade project.
The contract is divided into two parts: work on the new Holmestrand station which includes adding 2.37km to the 12.3km-long tunnel, the 866m station hall, and the north and south station access tunnels, and the Fibo project, which encompasses a 1.9km tunnel and emergency access point.
The four-track station is designed for trains to pass at 250km/h. The work will be completed by December 2015.
