The Bordline auxilliary converters use Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology and will be a direct replacement for the existing auxilliary power units on the 25kV 60Hz ac trains, which date from the mid-1990s.
AMT says the upgrade is part of a comprehensive maintenance plan which is intended to improve reliability on the Deux-Montagnes Line.
