Weighwell says the PTW 500-VB2X was chosen for the depot at Tangiers because of its lightweight and portable nature. The system will provide data on wheel, axle, and total vehicle weight and uses the company's multilingual ptwX software, which provides real-time displays for up to 16 axles and generates customised reports, which can be exported in standard formats such as pdf and csv.

The fleet of 14 Alstom Duplex trains will be maintained at the purpose-built depot by Moroccan High-Speed Train Maintenance (SMMRGV), a 60:40 joint venture between French National Railways (SNCF) and Moroccan National Railways (ONCF) under a €175m 15-year contract signed in January.
