Siscog will supply its Ontime decision support tool for creating and updating timetables, together with its Fleet planning and management programme for the deployment of locomotives and rolling stock.
The systems will be fully operational by the middle of this year, enabling Via Rail to closely monitor a number of key performance indicators including fuel consumption, operational downtime of equipment, and personnel requirements and will also support demand modelling for the future development of services.
Last year Via Rail awarded IVU Traffic Technologies, Germany, a contract to supply resource planning software for duty scheduling and dispatching.
