The facility was opened by the Australian deputy prime minister Mr Barnaby Joyce, local MP for Wright, Mr Scott Buchholz, and SCT Logistics managing director Mr Geoff Smith with 120 guests in attendance.

The opening comes seven months after the hub received its first rail freight.

The $A 35.2m ($US 28m) road-rail intermodal terminal is located adjacent to the Sydney - Brisbane main line managed by Australian Rail Track Corporation. The Federal Government provided $A 9.6m towards the cost of the project through its National Stronger Regions Fund.

The 10-hectare terminal includes a transit warehouse with hardstand area, container loading and storage facilities, and 6km of track.
