THE first tenders for detailed technical design work on railway infrastructure for the Rail Baltica standard-gauge link between Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia were issued by the RB Rail trilateral joint venture at the end of December.

The company has launched tenders for design services on the Pärnu - Rapla section in Estonia and the Kaunas - Ramygala stretch on behalf of the governments of the two countries.

The two contracts encompass building design and design supervision services for the construction of railway substructure, superstructure and related civil structures for the double-track electrified line.

The deadline for the submission of proposals for both tenders is January 29.
