The two companies plan to integrate their technologies and develop innovations to expand railway digital predictive maintenance with the ambitious objective of achieving 100% availability.

Wi-Tronix currently provides remote monitoring, video analysis and predictive diagnosis for around 12,000 locomotives, mainly in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Australia. This includes 70 Siemens ACS-64 electric locomotives operated by Amtrak.

“Wi-Tronix is a leading innovator in real-time monitoring for rail,” says Mr Johannes Emmelheinz, CEO of customer services with Siemens Mobility. “Partnering with developers of exceptional technologies is a key part of our strategy to deliver expansive digital services for predictive maintenance.”

“We were very deliberate in seeking the ideal partner to work with,” says Mr Larry Jordan, president and CTO of Wi-Tronix. “With their global reach and resources, we will accelerate development of our products and expand our footprint to serve customers around the world.”
