In September 2016 ÖBB selected Bombardier for a framework contract to supply up to Talent 3 EMUs, with an initial firm order for 21 class 4758 sets for Vorarlberg.

Each 104.5m-long six-car set will seat around 300 passengers, and the modular interior will enable trains to be configured for carrying bicycles in the summer and skis in the winter.

The 160km/h 15kV 16.7 Hz ac EMUs also feature passenger Wi-Fi, intelligent HVAC systems, LED lighting, low-floor doorways with retractable steps for barrier-free access, and two toilets, one of which will be accessible for passengers with wheelchairs.

Production of bodyshells commenced in September 2017 and the first trains will be delivered to Voralberg in April 2019.
