A total of 768 type 81-765/766/767 vehicles will enter service by 2020 and the first passenger trials are due to take place on the Violet Line (Line 7) in March or April.

Features include USB charging points, interactive touch-screen route maps, LED interior lighting, full-width gangways and an upgraded HVAC system.

According to Moscow Metro, each eight-car set can accommodate up 2000 passengers, giving them 15% more capacity than existing trains, with 30% more passenger handrails. At 1.4m, doors are also wider than those of existing trains and the vehicles are designed to accommodate passengers with reduced mobility.
