The 37.4km, nine station line is currently 23% complete, Turhan said during a presentation on the ministry’s 2019 budget before the grand national assembly of Turkey’s (TBMM) planning and budget commission on October 5. Until the line opens, passengers can travel to the airport using Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) buses.
According to IRJ Pro, Kolin Construction, Maykol Construction and Cengiz Constructionn are building the line.
The 27km, six station Istanbul Airport - Halkali line is set to be completed in 2020.
