The train will initially run twice a week with a payload capacity of 1300 tonnes, and timings will be coordinated with those of the Kiel – Gothenburg ferry service. Kombiverkehr will offer through services, including transfers within Sweden, in a single booking.
The trains will include pocket wagons for semitrailers and the launch has been timed to coincide with the reopening of the Brenner route. Kombiverkehr says it has delayed the launch because it wants to avoid exacerbating bottlenecks on transalpine routes, and because the additional demand for rolling stock created by the diversions means pocket wagons are in short supply.
