Delivery of the vehicles will start in 2016 in readiness for completion of the project at the end of 2017. This involves connecting the existing east-west light metro line to the Hook of Holland line west of Schiedam Centrum and converting the rest of the line, which serves Vlaardingen and Maassluis, for operation as a light metro.
RET plans to extend Line B trains which originate in Nesselande to Hook of Holland, while Line A trains from Binnenhof will run through to Vlaardingern West.
