The Beijing - Zhangjiakou high-speed line is 174km long and has eight stations including Badaling Great Wall and Xiahuayuan North, where the 52.2km Chongli high-speed line branches off to Prince Edward City.

The Chongli high-speed line will serve the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games in Chongli district and will be opened and operated simultaneously with the Beijing - Zhangjiakou line.

The journey time for passengers travelling between Beijing and Zhangjiakou by high-speed train will be shortened from a current fastest time of 3h 25min to less than one hour.
