GERMAN infrastructure manager DB Networks has launched a tender for up to six rail milling machines.

The contract includes a firm order for one machine, with the framework agreement to run until the end of 2023. The machine must be suitable for operation on class D2 track, with a maximum speed of at least 120km/h when moving between milling operations.

The hopper for containing rail chips must have capacity of 16m3, and the machine must be able to operate at up to 1.5km/h when undertaking rail milling. Vehicle cabins must be air-conditioned and suitable for transporting workers.

Bids must be submitted by February 2.
