TRANSAMO has been named shadow operator for four new Grand Paris autonomous metro lines by Société du Grand Paris (SGP) and Île-de-France Mobility (IDFM).

The Transamo joint venture is made up of French transport operator Transdev and Brussels urban transport operator STIB, and is leading a consortium which also includes Transdev Group and Strides International Business (previously SMRT International).

The four autonomous orbital metro lines are currently under construction through the suburbs of Paris. Until the definitive operator is chosen, the shadow operator will provide support and technical assistance to the metro builder. Specifically, the two companies’ will share experiences in project management, metro operation and maintenance as well as in safety, reliability and passenger experience.

Line 15, 16, 17 and 18 are targeted to be operational between 2024 and 2030.
